The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Fighters Group

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in power within the city.

Note: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Warrior Group Introduced

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.

At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.

The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each character has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks retribution.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team enter places they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • The target is wanted dead by the family.

This means them few options but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists tables.

Audiences can expect learning which players will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
